Virat Fire vs the Protea fire a tale of number 1 and 2

Protea Fire

Today is the final day of the 2nd test cricket between the Protea Fire and India.

Virat Kohli showed a burning desire to fight fire with fire at the freedom series’ second test at Supersport Park. Both teams have treated their fans to the highest game of cricket. The Indian Captain is no ordinary player and definitely a no push over but the Protea fire unleashed to its maximum takes no prisoners.

With the youngest number bowler in history Kagiso Rabada, the Vicious Philander and the heavy weight Ngidi bringing the hit, Virat fire is nothing but candle flames. A team with Superman cannot lose; AB de Villiers is an unfair advantage for Proteas against other teams. Spare the thought for the number one test team in the world; Protea fire raging at such speed cannot be put out. India is feeling the pressure of having had to prove themselves playing outside of India. They could never have asked for a better test than Proteas in South African playing conditions.

South Africa will be ruthless and merciless following their embarrassing tour to India previously.

Virat Kohli celebrations have rubbed South African fans the wrong way and the Proteas have responded in the best possible manner! At the moment South Africa is on track to clinch the series today and go to Wanderers knowing that they can express themselves without pressure on their shoulders.

A lot is at stake for India; they have not lost a series in 3 years, reputations on the line and rankings will be affected; such is the joy of test cricket. They will look to rather play for the draw and give themselves a chance to win the series on the last test.

But also South African senior players like Amla, AB, Steyn may not have much time playing cricket together; therefore these few games gives them an opportunity to keep making history and breaking records together. This also means that the youngsters coming in will have that rare opportunity to be on the field while these icons keeps breaking records. Something that can be Proteas’ culture passed on to one generation of players to another.

South African cricket headed the right direction and winning such games is a great step towards conquering world cricket again.
